Paulig — Since 1750
The Paulig workshop in Schwarzach near Würzburg has been weaving carpets since 1750 — a continuous Franconian textile tradition spanning nearly three centuries. Today Paulig produces handwoven wool flatweaves in a contemporary palette, exclusively for the German and European designer market. The Salsa Base collection is Paulig's signature handwoven flatweave — a dense, voluminous texture engineered to walk on. The yarns are spun from finely colour-mixed fibres, giving the surface a quiet depth that flat single-tone weaves cannot achieve.
Salsa Base — Modern Living Texture
The Salsa Base structure is flat enough to work under dining furniture, yet retains a soft, fluffy underfoot feel. The texture is designed for reversible use — both sides function equally as the working surface, doubling the rug's effective lifespan. Salsa Base is available across the full Salsa colour palette and can be produced in custom sizes up to 600 × 990 cm.
