Our collection honors this legacy, hand-knotted in Kathmandu, Nepal, by artisans who still master the vanishing art of hand-spinning. This traditional process imbues the yarn with a natural irregularity, granting the rug its soulful, organic texture.
In this generous 8 x 10 ft format, the brilliance of fine Matka silk from China meets the resilience of Tibetan highland wool. The golden amber background is a sophisticated blend of 60% wool and 40% silk, while the striking blue tiger motifs consist of an impressive 90% silk content. This meticulous interweaving of fibers creates a luminous, multi-dimensional surface that is exceptionally soft to the touch.
