Nepal Peking Rug
Hand-spun highland wool, plant-dyed, knotted in Nepal in the Tibetan technique.
The Design
A contemporary reading of the classic Chinese Peking (Art-Deco) style: a deep indigo open field crossed by a single flowering prunus branch, with a vase of blossoms in one corner and a soft ice-blue border framing the whole. The open ground is the hallmark of the Peking school — the restraint that lets the asymmetric floral sprays breathe.
Material & Feel
Hand-knotted in Nepal in the Tibetan technique from hand-spun highland wool, coloured with natural plant dyes. A high, dense, plush pile gives a soft feel underfoot and a quiet sheen, while the wool stays naturally dirt-resistant and hard-wearing.
In Your Home
At 244 × 200 cm (8.0 × 6.6 ft) it anchors a living or dining area. The blue palette sits beautifully with dark hardwoods or light modern furniture and brings a calm, refined mood to a room.
