Lion Rug – Hand-knotted Wool
A traditional nomadic rug with a clear graphic language and natural presence.
This hand-knotted Beni Ourain Mrirt rug originates from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and is made from pure wool. It reflects the traditional weaving culture of Berber nomadic tribes.
Each rug is unique. Patterns are passed down through generations and interpreted individually by the weaver. The lion motif gives this piece a strong, symbolic and graphic character.
Typical for Mrirt rugs is the natural color palette: wool white combined with charcoal or black tones. This allows the rug to integrate easily into modern interiors, from minimalist spaces to warm, natural living environments.
With a size of approx. 6 × 4 ft, it is well suited for smaller rooms or as a defined accent in larger spaces.
