Origin, provenance, and materials of Ziegler Tabriz rugs
Ziegler rugs originate from the Arak region in Iran, a mountainous region in Persia. Traditional carpets with floral patterns have been woven in the villages since the 18th century. The motifs are typical and vary regionally. Old and antique are often very valuable and highly priced, as they are sought after by collectors. This rug was made in the 1950´s.
The quality of these carpets is generally good to very good. Local wool is used as the pile material, and the warp and weft threads are made of cotton, which gives the carpets a pleasant stability.
