Rugs from the holy city of Qum (Ghom) are internationally renowned for their extraordinary quality and creative diversity. While the finest Ghom silk carpets are known for their record-breaking knot density, this vintage piece (circa 40–50 years old) represents a rare and highly decorative category: a sophisticated blend of premium wool and pure silk highlights on a full silk foundation (warp).
The design is a true eye-catcher, featuring an unusual striped panel arrangement adorned with fine floral motifs. Measuring 207 x 130 cm (6.8 x 4.3 ft), the rug utilizes natural vegetable dyes in a rich palette of Red, Ivory, and Blue. The silk elements within the floral patterns interact beautifully with the light, granting this Qum silk rug a multi-dimensional glow that elevates any upscale interior.
